How to win during Clearing

Check your offers from 8am

UCAS will open at 8am on Thursday morning. Make sure you log in as soon as possible so that you can see if you have met the conditions of your firm offer, insurance offer or if looking at Clearing spaces is on the cards. Remember that even if you meet the conditions of your firm offer you can choose to use Clearing as a last chance to shop around and look at other universities.

Have everything ready

Even though your UCAS Track will tell you if you have been successful in meeting the conditions of any offers, you will not be able to get your A-Level results via UCAS. Find out beforehand where and when you can collect your results from, or if your college will be making them available to you online. You won’t be able to make any Clearing applications without knowing your results.

Have your GCSE results handy

Although studying for your GCSEs may be a distant memory, you will probably need your results easily accessible on Thursday. Many courses have specific GCSE requirements and you will be unable to make Clearing applications without knowing your GCSE grades.

More details on Experience Days can be found here and will be included in your clearing acceptance email.
