The festive period is fast approaching *cue either a “Yay” or “Humbug’ depending on your persuasion!*, so lets take this moment to explore the delights of December and festive themed events on and around campus:
**Please note that you may have to book tickets for the events below so book early to avoid disappointment!**
PARENT’S NETWORK CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY
11 DECEMBER 2PM – 4PM- Ivor Crewe Seminar Room
For both staff and students to attend a free event along with their children for chat, nibbles and crafts.
MILK IT – CHRISTMAS SPECIAL
12 DECEMBER 11PM – 2:30AM- Sub Zero
It’s here! It’s finally here! A chance to belt out the cheesiest and cringeworthy christmas songs (and a few cheesy pop songs as well- it’s like the ’90s all over again!) at Milk It’s biggest event of the year!
THINK Debate – Extremism, Radicalisation and the Politics of Hate
14 December 2pm- Ivor Crewe
Ok, so it is not strictly a festive event but it’s free and part of an award winning series of events. It may challenge your own thoughts and opinions!
14, 15 & 16 Dec 7:30pm- Lakeside Theatre
You’re never too old to go to a pantomime – but this isn’t any pantomime; it is the University of Essex Theatre Arts society pantomime written by and performed by University of Essex Students. Expect a lot of laughs and bucket loads of innuendos!
THE END OF TERM SNOW BALL
15 DECEMBER 11PM – 3AM- Sub Zero
Forget London’s Wonderland, this is the proper way to enjoy christmas and say goodbye to friends for the christmas break. Expect mince pies, snow cannons and plenty of santa hats! (Kind of fitting as the venue is called Sub Zero as well!)
And if you want to see what is going on in Colchester then you may be interested in:

Castle Park Christmas Market and Vintage funfair- running from 9th until 18th December
